In a group of 5 students, we were to select a precedents for studies from a list we were given. The precedent studies had to provide analysis based on function, spatial typologies and spatial poetics of the building.
Our group chose the Interpretation and Welcome Centre for Visitors in La Antigua by Architects Ventura + Limona.
We were to research on information relating to the selected building (raw data and drawings) (from site visit or print form/ publications). Aside, we were also to conduct analysis to include diagrams, photos and minimum annotations illustrating our selected precedents studies.
We also had to produce tectonic/ elemental/ reductive models (not to scale)
Furthermore, we were to produce a plan- section relationship co-relating to one of the most interesting section of the building. We were then to redraw the section based on our understanding of the building's materiality, structure, tectonic logic, scale and proportion, and spatial qualities.
The research and analysis was to be done on 6 A3 sheets of paper (landscape).

REFLECTION
This project enlightened me on how spaces are organised to achieve their functions based on material, entry and exit points and space planning. I was also able to explore into the spatial poetics/ experiences of the building.
Project 2: Genius Loci- Visitor Interpretive Centre
This project called for an architectural response to design an interpretive centre sited in Sekinchan, with emphasis on strong engagement and relationship to the site, spatial experiences and programmatic requirements. We were required to :
- Produce site analysis which document, interpret and analyze the site context and the ‘genius loci’ of place and generate design based on the unique character and conditions of the site context.
- Generate design through conscious consideration of section-plan relationship with considerations of human scale, natural light, materials/texture.
- Design a small scale community building which response to the site (site topography, history and socio-cultural events), functional program and users’ experiences

The Paddy Field
Bagan Fishing Village
This second project was divided into 3 phases:
Phase 1: Reading the Site
In groups, we were to conduct data collection and analysis of our context. Groups were divided based on; history and morphology of town/context (documentation team) , natural and constructed landscapes, circulation and movement, (built forms, typologies and patterns), (society ritual and communication)Our Location, Sekinchan had two sites that were selected- The Paddy Fields and The Bagan Fishing Village. We were farther supposed to conduct Micro Analysis of the sites and come up with a physical and digital site model.
I was on the sub group working on the physical and digital site model for the Bagan Fishing Village- Zone A and D.
Below is a link to the presentation slide that entails the site analysis.

Phase 2: Personal Interpretation and concept Development as a response
We were required to produce our own interpretation of the context paying attention to materials, landscape, patterns and elements and memory of the space. This was to be produced in the form of sketches, diagrams and photographs, and in turn this informed our subsequent decision. Aside, we were to produce a conceptual model of the Visitor's Interpretive Centre.

Phase 3: Visitor Interpretive Center
In the third phase, we were to propose a design scheme and come up with the key section and experiential spaces based on the human scale, natural lighting and materials
Final presentation required us to produce 4 A1 sheets conveying ideas underlying the design, A sectional model and an area schedule displaying 10 rooms as per the design requirements.

REFLECTION
I learnt to come up with my personal interpretation of a site through sketch design, and in turn influence my design concept and conceptual model. I learnt to work with the key section and experiential spaces to meet design requirements of the Visitor Interpretive Centre.
