Part A: Theorizing the Connectivity
In a group, we selected a case study city and scrutinized the city in both historical and contemporary phases. In this case, the city chosen is Orchard Road, Singapore, famed for its premier shopping belts and expanding tourism industry. A digital presentation is prepared on salient and insightful ideas, theories, and social situations that gave rise to the spatial form of the city.
The critical analysis on historical and contextual underpinning answers the city's response to modern and postmodern ideas, place making aspects in the city in the clearly specified categories of built form, activity and movement patterns. From here we acquired a holistic understanding about various historical phases of Orchard Road and its response to modernization.
Below is our final presentation of Orchard Road, Singapore:Part B: Urban Journal
This task relates to the one above, in the way we were expected to document the city spaces. This is a location based study to establish the relationships and roles of the three urban design elements, especially focusing on the urban structuring principles. Urban patterns and sense of place were to be given key focus.

Project 2: Mapping the Townscape
This assignment studies a significant core of Kuala Lumpur, and its carried out in a group. The aim is to coin our own theory for the city. The theory is concluded after the urban distinctive characters are identified. The significance and features of the area of Central Market and Petaling Street are scrutinized and illustrated, establishing a sensual perception of the city's collage of a variety of configuration and elements. Views and vistas of the site are studied based on Cullen's serial visions, adding information to the analysis of patterns between typologies of form.

REFLECTION
Through this module, I was able to develop formal attributes of a number of key examples on the design of the cities. I was able to explore various theories and ideas in the Eastern World, and I also got a holistic understanding about various historical phases of the case study cities.
